Feed Me, Seymour! Using RSS Feeds Can Give Your Message New Reach
In the past few years, web technology has provided us with many new ways to send and receive information. One method that has consistently gained popularity is the RSS feed. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) technology allows Internet users to "subscribe" to websites that provide RSS "feeds". The RSS feeds provide a list of content, a brief description, and a link to the web page with the full article. This allows subscribers to read the latest news through bookmarks in their web browser or through an RSS reader.
If you're sending emails through Bronto, you may have noticed the "Assign to Feed" option in the Message Overview. Clicking this link will bring up a list of the feeds you've created and allow you to add the desired message to a feed. First, though, you'll need to create your feed.
Creating an RSS Feed
To create an RSS feed, click the Content tab, and then click Feeds. You'll see a list of your existing feeds and the Create button in the upper right of the screen.

Clicking the Create button brings up the RSS Feed creation screen. Here you can give the feed a name and description. You can also choose whether you'd like posts to remain in the feed for a certain number of days, or to keep the last x number of messages posted to the feed.

Clicking Save will return you to the list of RSS feeds. You will see your newly-created feed in the list. To view the RSS feed at any time, click the orange RSS icon on the right side of the page.

Once you've created your RSS feed, you can place the link on your website to encourage readers to subscribe to your feed. While viewing the RSS feed, copy and paste the URL from your web browser's address bar. This is the link to your RSS feed.
